Day 1: 31 Days without Sugar

Hello! It’s March 1st, and I’m excited to begin my self-directed month long sugar detox.

I’ve been getting ready for the past week by cutting down on sugar in my life. I was using a lot- sugar in my coffee, honey in my tea, making homemade muffins and cookies, and indulging in quite a lot of chocolate! I was eating "meal replacement” bars, that have too much sugar in them, and then there’s the hidden sugar that is in so many processed foods- in things you wouldn’t even expect like bread, crackers, and salad dressings.

So, this morning I made a cup of green tea instead of coffee. (Tea is easier for me to do without sugar.) I had a no sugar, high protein, high fat plant-based breakfast. I attended a meditation class and a yoga class, and then I just finished teaching a yoga class, and I’m just now starting to get hungry for some lunch. I feel good so far- not craving sugar YET.

I took a baseline weight reading this morning. My main goal is NOT to lose weight, but I do expect that I will lose 2-5 pounds over the month. My goal is to feel vibrant and healthy.

If you’re coming along on this journey with me, please make a comment below, so we can support each other.

Lots of love,

Cheryl
