Day 2: 31 Days without sugar

One down, 30 to go!

Yesterday was pretty easy for me. I really didn’t miss sugar yesterday, I was perfectly happy/satisfied with my food choices. I enjoyed my green tea in the morning, had a decaf coffee with unsweetened hemp milk in the early afternoon, and made some tasty meals for lunch and dinner. Some of my family members are doing a keto situation at the moment, so I’ve been trying out new recipes. Yesterday, I made these zucchini cauliflower fritters, they were quite tasty! I had some dry roasted nuts for an afternoon snack, and made a savory peanut sauce to go on tempeh for dinner, alongside some garlic green beans. Overall, it was quite satisfying.

I decided for the month I was going to track my calories and macros. I noticed right away that my carb intake was a lot less, and my fat was way up. We’ll see how that plays out. For these first few days, I’m trying to lay low on the fruit, but will add it back in soon. I also ate fewer calories than I would have on any non sugar-fasting day.

So far, today is going well. I had a little headache when I woke up, but some decaf coffee and breakfast took care of that. I’m now sipping some black tea and have to go figure out what to make for lunch. I find it interesting that it’s been 4 hours since I had breakfast, and I’m not really even that hungry yet. Not having the sugar rush in the morning helps me keep more even, I think!

How is it going for you so far?

Hugs,

Cheryl
