Day 15. Dialing it In (31 days without sugar)

Hi there!

Sorry I’ve been out of touch the past few days- life got busy, but I’ve been sticking to my no-sugar routine.

I mentioned last week that I was feeling surprisingly hungry with this new way of eating, and so one day I made steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast, rather than the low carb options I was having previously. I topped it with hemp hearts, chia seeds, acai powder and a couple of sliced strawberries, and it was so decadent! It also kept me going strong through my morning yoga classes and I wasn’t hungry until 1pm for lunch. Since that day, I’ve been adding more whole grains into my daily routines, like brown rice, rye crackers, and quinoa (technically a seed, not a grain), and I feel more satisfied for longer.

It’s funny, because my husband and son both prefer a lower carb diet for them to feel their best. We have different metabolic needs, and that’s OK! Every BODY is a little bit different, so I hope you’re finding the right combination of macros that works best for you.

We are about half way through this challenge, and I can really see myself sticking with less sugar in my life in general. Woo hoo!
